4th week of communication

The art of negotiation skills-22 March 2010 by Mr. Hisham abd Karim

We always negotiate in our life but we don’t realize that. For example we negotiate something from our parents like to get money and deal with buyer to get a better price. This session was done Mr.Hisham who really good in negotiate skills. I was learnt about the skills to negotiate with people. During this session each group was given a task and have to pretend to negotiate with others group.

Writing an article for publications Technique and styles-23-24 March 2010

This session was done by two days with the same trainers, Mrs. Liew Suet Fun. She teaches us to write the impressive article for the target reader. There is some important thing should have in written the article:-

• What is it about?
• Where was it written?
• Who was it written for?
• Why was it written?
• How was it written?

The significant of written the article must be in creative style. This is because writing is a part of communication. So to make our article persuasive, we have to communicate effectively, understandable, endorsement and can be belief. So this is the way how to make creative article:-

• Know your material well
• Decide of flow of though
• Decide on approach (title)
• Be deliberate




The Role of Neuro Linguistic Programming Communication-25 March 2010,by Mr. Kamal b.Mohamed

NLP= Neuro Linguistic Programming

Emotion move action. In this session what can I summarize is every person has their ability to manage their emotion using their subconscious mind. Basically emotion can affect law we think and act. It can also determine the success or failure for whatever we do in our life.



Communication concept and skills-26 March 2010, by Mr.Khairul Najmi Idris

Today, our trainer was given a title “TIME IS MONEY”. Do you agree with this statement? Discuss. My group and almost all groups agree with this statement. Everything in our life we need money.We need money to take care of our health; we need money to have high education; we need money to enjoy with friends; we need money to build up a business; we need money to use the toilet (public toilet); in shorts money is everything. But when we says about time, do you know time can effected our money?If You are late to come to your work,your salary will be deducted, If you late to come for appointment with client you will lost the tender,no business no money.In conclusion we need to use time wisely in our life.

Subject: Interview Techniques


The class was start at 10:30am; Mr farizal was given a briefing about the interview technique. After the briefing session, there is mock interview to the trainees to give the real situation during the interview. However this interview was done by the trainees that not involve the public speaking last week. The rest was given a task about our career plan.

Subject: Body Language for Presentation



This is the best session for this week. Who knows that the actress can be a trainer for us? I really enjoy during this class. She was teaching us how to use our body language (facial impression, voice tone, eye contact, emotion, posture, rhythms) so that we can feel more confident during the presentation or communication. This is because the percentage for body language is about 55% higher than the tone and the words that we use during communication.

Subject: Grooming and Dinning Etiquette





The objective of this session is to ensure all trainees have knowledge about the etiquette during involve in the formal party. This session was done by Ms.Noraini for both trainee (male and female) .Then the trainees was give a briefing by Mr. farizal how to choose the color and match it in our dressing especially for interview. After that we were separate by the gender, Mr. Farizal with the male and Ms.Noraini with the female. I was under Ms Noraini session and during this session, she was teaching us about the dressing and how to apply make up that suitable during the interview.

Subject:Advanced Report



As I mentioned last two week, today all trainees should continue making advance report. We already mention by our trainers before to come out with the new idea how to improve The BeST Programme in any aspect. My group was decided to make report base on communication module and we have to make a survey to complete our report. By 29 March we have to present what we have done in our report.

The Beginning of March, 2010




1 March 2010 (Registration Day)

The beginning of March 2010, I was selected to join Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training (Best) Program. I have to wake up early in that day to make sure that I can arrive at UniRAZAK at 8:00 am. Alhamdulillah I arrive early on that day. I feel so excited to join this program to meet new friends and to learn something new outside of my field area. But the most important thing is to improve my skills especially in communication.

2-3 March 2010 (Team Building, Lembah Pangsun Hulu Langat)

There is a program we called team building which is the objective of this program to make sure all trainee will know each other very well. I really enjoy during this program. I meet new friends here.

5-12 March 2010 (Communication Session)

The class was started. Starting with making effective resume on 5 March, there is a new tip that I learn from this session. “The Simple is better”. From that session, I believe that all trainees have changed their resume after got the new information from trainers especially how to attract potential employer to read our resume within 45 second. Thank you so much to our trainer (Mrs. Norliza and Mrs. Farahiyah) .

On 8 March, the communication session continue with effective meeting module, which is all the trainee was exposing to give the idea and involve in a meeting. This session need all trainees to participate in a meeting which is each group were given a situation to conduct a meeting. This session was done by Miss Sofea and Mrs. Iriz Dcruz.

On 9 March the same trainers, Mrs. Norliza and Mrs. Farahiyah were teaching us to make impressive cover letter. The new thing that I learn is how to use the impressive word in a cover letter so that it will show something extraordinary about our self to attract the potential employer.

10 March, Business Writing-this is something new to me. By the end of this session, I learn to make professional business writing .The things that we need to know is about its format. The trainees were practice making enquiry letter and apply letter for a company on that day and were present that sample letter in front of classmate.

11 March, Public Speaking Technique-One day before that day, we was mention by Miss Hanani to prepare our self about this session .Some of trainees was divided into a group. My name was selected into a group and each person has to prepare to be marketing executive to sale the new product. This is the challenges session to me. I have to speak up in front of my classmate and honestly to say that this is my weakness that I notice about myself since I was in university. I look confident but when I have to speak up in front of many people I lost the word to say even though I was preparing before. I hope I can improve it.

12 March, Introduction to advance report- a little bit introduction about how to make advance report by Mrs. Norliza and Mrs. Farahiyah and will continue on 19 March.

My First Impression In Unirazak "City Campus"


Wow!
Becoming a part of trainee in this place it’s surprising me at all. I will never aspect that I can be here for three month. Meet new friends and the best part that I like about this place is about its facilities. Everything is there "comfortable lecture room”, “computer lab with free internet without limit"(that’s the most things I like about this place) and the others facilities like library, prayer room and last but not least is its location is near to the public transport stations like LRT, Monorail and KTM so that easy to everybody to come here especially to me who use the public transport to come here. I still remember after I got offer to join the Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Training Program (BeST Program) that will state in Unirazak KL, I need to make survey first and budgets the time so that I can come early before the class start. Something surprising me again when the trainer come early than trainee differ from my experience, student always wait the lecturer. Not much to say here because I will continue later with the new entry. Just wait and see for another entry..
